Cabin Fever asks that attendees remain around their vehicles for the duration of the show, which lasts 35 to 40 minutes. We brought card games to play in the car.The Drive-in Laser Shows are intended to offer safety and social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We saw people playing catch and football before the show started. You can bring your own toys and games to play while you wait. We also brought a beach umbrella that we stuck in the ground to protect us from the rain. You can bring chairs and blankets to sit on if you want to be outdoors. You can bring your own cooler, food and drinks into the venue. The glow items are priced between $5 and $20 each. They also sell some snacks (bags of chips and candy) and cans of soda. There is a glow stand selling bracelets, swords, hats, rings, glasses, and more. No RVs, buses, trailers, or tall sprinter vans are allowed. You can bring as many people as can fit in your car. If you can’t make the Woodstock show this weekend, there will also be shows in Grayslake, Illinois (1.5 hours from Rockford) from July 22 – 25th and Madison, Wisconsin (1 hour from Rockford) from August 12 – 15th. We would recommend spending a little more to get the VIP seating so you feel closer to the show. Our kids (7 and 4) really enjoyed staying up late and dancing outside to the music and we loved hearing songs we hadn’t heard in years as well as recent hits. Our whole family had a great time at the show! It was fast-paced, fun and the perfect length for an outing with kids.

We were able to quickly pack up and leave the fairgrounds within 10 minutes of the show ending. It started at 9:10 pm and was wrapped up by 10:05 pm. The entire light show is about one hour long. There are also two large screens that display lyrics and characters like Groot and Minions during the songs. There are lasers in every color you can imagine, a fog machine, and effects that make the lasers look like clouds in the sky. The music plays from speakers near the lasers and you’re able to tune in with your radio dial to hear the music in your car.

The show includes a mix of different genres of music including classic songs from Queen and Pink Floyd as well as country hits, pop music, rock, and rap. Families were dancing, singing, and having a great time all around us. We got the best of both worlds because the rain stopped after about 10 minutes and we were able to enjoy the rest of the show outside. It sure did! The falling rain made the lights sparkle and look like they were filled with glitter. When the light show started, it was raining, but we were told that rain enhances the lasers. In the VIP section, you have a better view and there is more room to dance and run around. We were parked in the VIP section which we thought was definitely worth the extra charge. They left plenty of space to set up chairs and blankets in front of your car. Parking was expertly handled by a team that instructed you where to go when you arrived. The drive-in show can be viewed from the comfort of your car or you can set up chairs or blankets in front of your car. No matter where your car is parked, you’ll be able to see the laser show as the lights reach across the entire Fairgrounds and the large screens are visible from every angle. Be sure to get there early so you can get a good spot! There are two shows each night, one at 9 pm and one at 10:30 pm. When: Thursday, July 15 – Sunday, July 18, 2021 **Disclaimer: We were given VIP passes to attend this event. Less than an hour from Rockford, you can check out a laser light show experience this weekend! The Cabin Fever Laser Light show has come to Woodstock, Illinois for four nights of family-friendly fun.
